Comrade Annie
I set off to Chicago to attend a 2-day class on Monday and Tuesday. But there is much in Chicago to do other than sit in a classroom, so I met up with a friend of mine who is at the University of Chicago. Together we toured the Art Institute of Chicago. Her name is "An Nai-Li" and she uses the nickname "Annie". She is a visiting scholar from Beijing China -- her field of study is "Cancer Biology". We had a good time, and I learned much from her as she explained some of the Chinese art which was on exhibit.
I decided to give her the title of "Comrade", in honor of her home country. This caused her to protest much, but to no avail: Comrade Annie it is. Though as a consolation I allowed her to wear my safari hat for a photo.
