Shady Character
"Shady Character" usually means "suspicious person". Marty is wearing his hat and sunglasses, and maybe looks "suspicious". But he is also standing in the shade, and his large-brimmed hat makes even more shade. So he is truly a "shady character" here at the small Scottish Festival.
