Palo Alto California
When I visit Palo Alto I have a very good time,
due in large part to my friends and their businesses.
I highly recommend the following:
-
California Shoe and Luggage Repair
-
A terrific little shop run by George Moon who will repair your shoes, luggage, make keys
with smiling service and at reasonable prices.
-
Cardinal Hotel
-
An old hotel with plenty of charm.
A warm, friendly lobby where guests sit and chat over a cup of Cardinal blend coffee.
The location - downtown Palo Alto - is convenient to shops, restaurants, buses, and Caltrains.
The staff is friendly, helpful, and very professional.
I have stayed at the Cardinal Hotel on regular visits and have seen very little turn-over in the staff.
This place is great!
-
Thaiphoon Restaurant
-
Good tasting food, wide variety, excellent service, reasonable prices.
Located on the same block as the Cardinal Hotel.
Highly recommended: Tapioca pudding in coconut milk for a light dessert.
-
Stanford Theatre
-
A 1920s theatre with a large organ.
Meticulously restored By the children of Mr Hewlett and Mr Packard, founders of HP.
Old classic movies are shown here at a very reasonable price.
And the popcorn is freshly popped and reasonably priced too!
