Marty Cawthon


Marty Cawthon is president and cofounder of ChipChat Technology Group. ChipChat has several PC industry firsts including the first commercial telex program (1978) and the first commercial OS/2 communications program (1989).

Mr Cawthon has advanced degrees in Physics from MIT and Stanford. He has a diversified work experience, including laser fusion and x-ray laser research, power, wood, and grain industries.

Mr Cawthon is a champion Scottish Bagpiper. He also enjoys reading the poems and songs of Robert Burns, roller skating, and sailing on the Great Lakes. In 1986 he participated in an expedition to the Antarctic sponsored by Stanford University. Inspired by his recent business activities in Japan, he is now dedicated to learning the Japanese language.
